Historic Downtown Race

The Second Historic Downtown Race will pass by the Torre Latino and Bellas Artes. Are you in?

Get ready for the second edition of the Historic Downtown Race. There will be categories for 5 and 10 kilometers, allowing you to explore emblematic sites in the area. Let us tell you the details.

The Mexico City Sports Institute announced that the sporting event will take place on Sunday, December 10th, with the starting signal at 7 am in the Plaza de la Constitución. The route will continue through the heart of the Cuauhtémoc borough, passing by the Latin-American Tower, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Hemiciclo a Juárez, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Old City Hall, the Templo Mayor, and the Colegio de San Ildefonso.

Costs and registration

The requirements to be part of this event will be quite simple. People older than 15 years —completed by December 31st— can participate, and registration must be done on the official Asdeporte website, with a cost of $395.

The kit will include a commemorative unisex t-shirt and a runner number with an included chip —for timekeeping and results—. This should be picked up on December 9th at Plaza Tlaxcoaque, located in Fray Servando Teresa de Mier in the Historic Downtown, from 12 pm to 6 pm.

The requirements to receive it will be:

– Present a valid official identification with a photograph
– Print and sign the waiver of responsibility
– Bring the registration receipt to collect the kit

If you want to expedite the process to receive the participation kit for the race, the recommendation is to perform a web check-in through the Asdeporte app. However, it’s important to consider that the delivery is personal, and only the registered competitor can collect their package. In case of not attending, the Organizing Committee will revoke the participation right obtained through registration.

On the day of the race, along the route and at the finish line, there will be water supply and medical support. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers —female and male— in both distances. This awards ceremony will take place around 9 am at the finish line area, where all runners will also receive a finisher medal and an official certificate.
