If you want to buy a real Mexican craft, there is only one place to be recommended: Ciudadela.
The full name sounds: Mercado de artesanías Ciudadela. Almost every taxi or Uber driver knows, where it is, but if you would be going with someone who doesn’t know, the address is:
Avenida Balderas y Plaza de la Ciudadela, Colonia Centro.
Ciudadela is open every day from 9:00 till 19:00, on Sundays closes at 18:00
You will find there absolutely everything: hats, ceramic skulls, wooden cuttlery, jewellery, natural clothes, masks, baskets, home fabrics, lamps… name what you want, and surely there is – for VERY reasonable prices.
How to get there from Casa de Chiles?
The easiest way is to get a taxi or Uber, but if you still are sure that you want to take metro and walk a bit, take the metro from Chapultepec direction Pantitlán, and get of at Balderas. Coming back you surely will take a taxi with all the stuff you bought…
